Blogmas 2015: Day 20

I am posting day 20 on the 22nd because this is about my birthday!

I turned 21 on December 20th!

I had a cookout type get together on Sunday. It was a ton of fun!

I had family and friends go.

I got so many things. It was completely unexpected!

My family friend/Second Mom made me this alcohol bouquet

Thank goodness we had a bit of chill over the weekend so we were able to have a fire without burning up inside and out! It was perfect, we even had s'mores.

Cheyne and I then took two of my cousins with us back to our

apartment and we played games.

I got cards against humanity for my birthday from Cheyne. So we went through it and took out all of the bad cards (Which was A LOT!) and played a censored version with my cousins!

My awesome Dad and amazing Grandma got me the EOS Rebel T5i camera, I have been asking for one for ages; I still can't believe I own this! That is why there are so many photos. I was playing with my camera ALL night.

My lovely husband also got me two coloring books! I love coloring in coloring books.

I love me some Yankee Candle!

I got the Magical Frosted Forest and Christmas Cookie.

My Lala and Abuelo got me an adorable canvas with Mickey and Minnie on it.

Thenf my Tia and Tio got me some wine and an awesome wine glass.

Of course I got a lot of Alcohol.

Happy 21st birthday to me!

Peppermint White Hot Chocolate

Tuesday, December 15, 2015

Blogmas 2015: Day 15

All year I love peppermint, but especially this time of year there is something special about sitting down with some peppermint tea, coffee, or hot chocolate.

The other day I made some Peppermint White Hot Chocolate.

I used Ghirardelli White Chocolate Bars and 'Organic Valley' organic whole milk.

Stir milk and chocolate together.

Chocolate is almost melted!

Stir in extracts.

Whipped cream, marshmallows and peppermint.

Ingredients:

- 4 cups of milk

- 8 oz. white chocolate, chopped

(Or white chocolate chips)

- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

- 1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract

- toppings!

Marshmallows, Crushed peppermints, Whipped cream

[My Homemade Whipped Cream would do perfectly for this.]

1. Stir milk and chopped white chocolate together in a medium saucepan.

2. Cook over medium heat (Do not boil), stirring occasionally, until simmer and the chocolate is melted.

3. Remove from heat and stir in peppermint and vanilla extract.

4. Serve warm, with toppings.

(If you have to wait a while to drink or serve it, then heat up in microwave or on the stove and stir in white chocolate that has settled on top and add toppings!)

Homemade Whipped Cream

Blogmas 2015: Day 9

During this time of year we always want yummy sweets and cozy coffee or hot chocolate. When I get cold I start wanting hot drinks, with tons of whipped cream on top!

I thought it would be nice to share my recipe for Homemade Whipped Cream.

I always love this over whipped cream from the store, ever since I started making my own whipped cream I feel that the store brands have a chemically taste to them.

I do use 'Organic Valley' organic whole milk, I prefer organic milk over regular.

They also make Heavy whipping cream which is what use in this recipe.

My "Piping bag" is made out of the Wilton tip #21,a standard sized coupler and a Ziploc bag.

Add Sugar.

Add Milk.

Thicken and add Vanilla Extract.

whisk!

Teeny Tiny Whipped Cream Poof.

Ingredients:

- 2 Tablespoons of Sugar

- 1 Cup of Heavy Whipping Cream

- 1 Teaspoon of Vanilla Extract

1. About 15 minutes before you are about to start put a metal mixing bowl in the freezer and make sure you keep the heavy whipping cream very cold.

2. If you are going to use a "Piping bag" like I did then you should start preparing your bag.

3. When you are ready to start, add the sugar and whipping cream into the mixing bowl that you were freezing. Whisk until the mixture starts to get thick.

4. Once the mixture is thickened add the Vanilla Extract and start whisking until very thickened (This can take a while and does tend to make your arm hurt, make sure you do proper stretches unless you use an electric beater!); If you like your whipped cream light and fluffy then whisk until it forms stiff peaks.

5. You can use withing 8 hours and Re-whisk if it becomes flattened or runny.
